Events like S2S are a valuable opportunity to step outside the day-to-day, meet the people building and growing businesses, exchange ideas and hear different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing Australian companies.
For Pinch, it was also an opportunity to talk payments, learn more about what businesses are building and strengthening connections across the broader startup ecosystem.
Our Co-Founder, Ben Cull, joined the S2S speaker line-up, sharing his experience and perspective as part of the day's program.
Having built Pinch from an idea into a payments technology business working with companies across Australia, Ben brought a payments and fintech perspective to the conversation alongside other founders and industry leaders.
It was great to see Pinch represented on stage and contribute to the exchange of ideas that makes events like S2S valuable for the wider business community.
Away from the stage, the Pinch team spent the day meeting people from across the community and hearing about what they're building, the problems they're solving and where their businesses are heading next.
Laurien Duits, Joe McCord, Justin de Villiers and Mikayla Corrie-Muller represented Pinch throughout the day, connecting with founders, operators and other attendees.
Those conversations are particularly valuable for our team. Understanding the challenges growing businesses face helps us stay close to the businesses and platforms we're building payments technology for.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Pinch event without adding a little personality.
Throughout the day, attendees stopped by Pinch & Mix to meet the team, talk payments and grab something sweet.
It gave us another way to bring people together, start conversations and connect with attendees in a relaxed setting between sessions.
One of the biggest takeaways from S2S was the value of getting founders, operators and the wider startup community together in one place.
Good ideas get shared, different perspectives emerge and conversations can quickly turn into meaningful new connections.
