Pinch Payments at the B.I.T.E. Business Conference 2026

Pinch Payments attended the B.I.T.E. Business Conference 2026 on the Mornington Peninsula, connecting with local businesses, customers and partners.

On Wednesday, 5 August, Pinch Payments headed to Victoria's Mornington Peninsula for the B.I.T.E. Business Conference 2026.

Representing Pinch on the day were Mikayla Corrie-Muller and Emily Emberson, who spent the event meeting local business owners, catching up with customers and partners, creating content and having plenty of conversations about payments.

The B.I.T.E. Business Conference brought together local businesses, vendors, partners, integrators and members of the wider community giving us a valuable opportunity to get away from our screens and spend some time talking with the people behind the businesses.

And for a company that believes in Payments Technology by Real People, that's exactly where we like to be.

Connecting with the local business community

One of the best parts of the B.I.T.E. Business Conference was simply getting to meet people.

Throughout the day, Mikayla and Emily spoke with local business owners and plenty of new faces, introducing them to Pinch and explaining how we help businesses simplify the way they manage and collect payments.

It was also a great opportunity to practise something that sounds simple but matters enormously: explaining what Pinch does in a clear, useful way.

Every conversation was a little different. Different businesses have different payment processes, customers and challenges, which meant plenty of questions about how Pinch works and where it could fit.

Those conversations also helped us build new relationships with people and businesses in the community some of which we hope could turn into future partnerships and collaborations.

Catching up with Pinch customers face to face

Meeting new businesses was only half the story.

We also had the chance to catch up with existing Pinch merchants and ask a very important question: how is Pinch working for you?

Talking to customers face to face gave us an opportunity to hear directly about their experiences, questions and needs.

That feedback is incredibly useful. Pinch exists to help businesses simplify payments, reduce unnecessary admin and create more certainty around cash flow. Hearing directly from the businesses using the platform helps us understand what's working well and where there are opportunities to make the experience even better.

It was also a good reminder that behind every payment, invoice and integration is a real business with real people trying to get things done.

Plenty of ideas for future content

Mikayla spent plenty of time behind the camera throughout the B.I.T.E. Business Conference, capturing content from across the event.

But some of the best content opportunities actually came from the conversations themselves.

We heard questions that businesses regularly have about payments and identified topics that could become useful educational content for Pinch merchants and the wider business community.

We also collaborated with Smart Business Solutions Group to create content, while Mikayla found herself on the other side of the interview as well, being interviewed by two other businesses.

And there was another first for the day: being recorded for radio.

Safe to say, there was no shortage of content opportunities.

Catching up with our partners and integrators

The B.I.T.E. Business Conference also gave us an opportunity to spend time with some familiar faces.

We caught up with our integration partners Oncord and Xero, strengthening existing relationships and talking through ideas for future content and collaboration.

Partnerships have long been an important part of how Pinch grows and supports businesses. Our platform integrates with accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB, and we also work with software providers and other partners to make payments easier to incorporate into the tools businesses already use.

Events like this give us the chance to move those conversations beyond emails and video calls, share ideas in person and explore what we could create together next.

We left with plenty to think about and plenty to be excited about.

A big thank you

A huge thank you to Shannon Smit and the Smart Business Solutions Group team for organising the B.I.T.E. Business Conference 2026 and for making us feel so welcome.

We'd also like to thank the vendors, partners, businesses and members of the local community who helped make the day what it was.

For us, events like the B.I.T.E. Business Conference are valuable because they give us the opportunity to listen.

We can talk directly with the businesses using Pinch, meet people who haven't heard of us before, learn what questions businesses are asking and spend quality time with the partners we work alongside.

Technology might make it possible to work with businesses all over Australia, but sometimes you can't beat a good face-to-face conversation.

We're looking forward to seeing where some of the conversations and collaborations from the B.I.T.E. Business Conference lead and hopefully, we'll be back for more.
